Aspiration Prayer for Ḍākinī Rigdzin Yangchen Lhamo

by Jigmey Lodrö Rinpoché (‘jigs med blo gros rin po che)

Translated from the Tibetan by Erick Tsiknopoulos

RIK-DZIN DRUP-PA’Y WANG-CH’UK PAYMA-JUNG

The mighty master who accomplished the state of a Knowledge Holder, Padmasambhava,

YANG-CHEN TRUL-PA YÉ-SHEY TS’O-GYEL SHAP

The emanation of Sarasvatī, Her Eminence Yéshey Ts’ogyel,

LHA-CHIK T’RI-S’ONG BAI-RO-TSA-NA SOK

His Majesty King T’ris’ong Détsen, the Translator Vairocana and the rest,

TSA-GYÜ LA-MA YI-DAM KHA’N-DRO CHAY

The Root and Lineage Gurus, together with the Iṣṭadevas and Ḍākinīs:

DENG-DIR DUNG-WAY KUL ZHING SÖL-DEP NA

As here and now I invoke and supplicate you, with yearning,

TS’É-DZIN YING KYI JÉ-MO MANDA-RA’Y

May the lifespan of the Ḍākinī of Deep Wisdom,

T’UK-JÉ’Y GYU’N-TRUL YÉ-SHEY KHAN-DRO-MA’Y

Magical display of the compassion of Mandāravā, Upholder of Longevity, Lady of Basic Space,

KU-TS’É TEN CHING ZHEY-DÖN DRUP-PA DANG

Remain firm, and may her aspired aims be achieved;

KHYAY-PAR NGÖN GYI T’UK-DAM LAY’N-T’RO YIY

And in particular, by the karmic propensities of her previous spiritual commitments,

S’IY NA MI-JIK TA-WA’Y DENG-CH’EN T’OP

May attain great confidence in the View, which has no fear within conditioned existence,

GOM-PA’Y TSEL DZOK CHÖ-PA T’AR-CH’IN NAY

Complete the dynamic energy of the Meditation, and consummate the Conduct;

CH’Ö-ZAY LONG DU CH’Ö KÜN JANG-CH’UP SHOK

And thereby, may she be Awakened to all things, within the expanse wherein all phenomena come to resolution.

And so it was that as a long life prayer (zhabs brtan) for Rikdzin Yangch’en Lhamo (rig ‘dzin dbyangs can lha mo), the transcendent magical display of Mandāravā, the Ḍākinī of Deep Wisdom, the Mighty Mistress of Space, hailed in numerous prophecies, this was offered up by a disciple who pleases the Buddha Padma (Padmasambhava), Master Manifold Forms (Loppön Nats’ok Zuk’chen, slob dpon sna tshogs gzugs can), on the Tibetan date of the 14th day of the 6th month of the Fire Bird Year in the 60 year astrological cycle (rab gnas); the foreign date of the 8th day of the 7th month of the year 2017 (July 8th, 2017): May virtue and goodness increase.

(Translated from the Tibetan by Erick Tsiknopoulos, July 11th-17th 2017, in Bucharest, Romania.)
