O Glorious Command Guardians of the Muni, imbued with spiritual power and creative energy,

KHYÖ-NYIY TEN CHING DRUP LA TSÉ-CHIK-TU

For those who rely upon and practice you, and thereafter supplicate you one-pointedly;

If, with pure altruistic intention, we are diligent in this manner,

TS’ANG DANG WANG-PO JIK-TEN KYONG-WA DANG

Then may Brahmā, Indra, the Protectors of the World;

GÖN-PO CH’AK-DRUK LA-SOK S’UNG-MAY KYANG

And the Guardians too, such as Six Armed Mahākāla,

Without fail, always keep us company.

Here in this place, may there be wellness and bliss in the day, wellness and bliss at night,

Which is the good fortune of the Precious Triple Gem.

NGÖN-TS’É CHOM-DEN-DAY KYI CHEN-NGA RU

Long ago, in the direct presence of the Bhagavān,

CH’Ö ZHIN DRUP-PAR JEY-PA’Y GANG-ZAK LA

For individuals who implement practice according to the Dharma,

BAR-CH’AY S’UNG ZHING KYONG-WAR ZHEL ZHEY-PA

They swore an oath to guard and protect from obstacles:

CH’Ö-KYONG S’UNG-MA NAM KYIY TRA-SHIY SHOK

May there be the good fortune of the Dharma Protectors and Guardians.

GEK-RIK NAY DÖN T’AP-TSÖ ZHI-WA DANG

Pacifying the various obstructive forces, ailments and conflicts,

MI-T’ÜN NÖ-PA’Y KYEN DANG DREL-WA DANG

Being disentangled from adverse, harmful conditions;

T’ÜN-PAR DRUP CHING P’ÜN-SUM-TS’OK GYUR-PA’Y

And practicing harmoniously: By such good fortune, copiously abundant,

TRA-SHIY DEY KYANG DENG-DIR DÉ-LEK SHOK

Here and now, may there be wellness and bliss.

TS’ANG DANG LHA-WANG S’UNG-MA’Y JIN-LAP DANG

May the blessing of being guarded by Brahmā and Indra,

P’EN-DZAY LHA YI TRA-SHIY NAY GYUR TÉ

And the good fortune of the Deities who provide protection remain firm;

DÉ-LEK SAM-PA YIY-ZHIN DRUP-PA DANG

Thus may our aspirations for wellness and bliss be accomplished, as wished,

TS’É-RING NAY-MEY DÉ-KYIY DEN-PAR SHOK

And may we have long life, freedom from illness, happiness and comfort.

DÖ-GU’I JOR-WA YAR GYI TS’O TAR P’EL

May the affluence of the myriad desirable objects expand like lakes in summertime,

KYÖN-MEY RIK KYI DEL-DRO GYÜN-CH’AY-MEY

May the gentle flow of faultless family be unceasing;

NYIN-TS’EN LO-ZANG DAM-PA’Y CH’Ö KYI DA

Day and night, passing one’s time with the Sublime Dharma of noble-mindedness,

P’ÜN-TS’OK PEL LA RÖL-PA’Y TRA-SHIY SHOK

May there be the good fortune of partaking in the glory of plenteous abundance.

This prosperity summoning38 and sanctifying smoke offering ritual39, ‘Raining Down Good Fortune’40, was composed by Panchen Lobzang Chögyen41 (AKA Panchen Lama Chökyi Gyeltsen42, the 4th Panchen Lama Rinpoché, 1570-1662).

Translated from the Tibetan by Erick Tsiknopoulos, December 2018.

The translator would like to thank Choe-khor Tshang Rinpoché (chos ‘khor tshang rin po che) for his help with some points in the text.

These, which are correlated to the “three places” (gnas gsum) of body, speech and mind on the heart, throat and forehead respectively, are said to the abodes of the Heroes/Ḍākas and Sky Dancers/Ḍākiṇīs. Here, their pure aspect (dag) is emphasized.
