ABOUT TIBETAN LANGUAGE
TRAINING COURSES
Trikāya Tibetan Language Academy is a rare opportunity to learn Tibetan directly from an experienced Western translator who is highly proficient in all aspects of Tibetan language and strongly familiar with modern Tibetan culture, with a specialized expertise in Tibetan Buddhism and translation.
We offer instruction in all forms of Tibetan language: Classical Literary Tibetan, Modern Spoken Tibetan, and Modern Literary Tibetan. The material covered includes grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, terminology and etymology, presented in detailed explanations by the teacher.
Our instruction is led by a seasoned professional translator with over two decades of experience working directly with Tibetan Buddhist texts and teachers, academic publications, and native Tibetan speakers. This practical expertise ensures you learn not just textbook Tibetan, but the language as it's actually used in real-world Buddhist, educational, and cultural contexts. All courses can be fully customized or combined based on your initial consultation and learning objectives.

In addition, students may choose to study specific Tibetan texts with the teacher, upon request.

One-on-one online instruction via video conference (Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp).
Optimized session length: 60-minute, 90-minute, and 120-minute sessions available.
Customized curriculum based on your study goals and background.
Minimum recommendation: Two 60-minute sessions per week for effective progress.
Studying Together: Instruction materials and resources are provided, and ongoing email support is available between sessions for questions or additional guidance.
