A Long-Life Prayer for the Omniscient Dalai Lama
By Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche
CHEN-RAY-ZIK WANG T’HUK-JEY GYU-T’HRÜL GAR
Lord Avalokiteshvara, dance of the magical display of great compassion,
GANG-JONG DRO-WA YONG KYI KYAP-GÖN CHHOK
Supreme protector and guardian of all living beings in the Land of Snows,
KHYEN TSE NÜ NGA TEN-DZIN GYA-TSO YI
Possessor of transcendent understanding, love, and ability, Tenzin Gyatso:
KU-TS’HE MIN-GYUR YÜN DU TSO-ZHEY SÖL
I pray that your life be immutable, and prosper forever.
LU-MEY KÖN-CHHOK SUM GYI DEN T’HU YII
Through the truth and power of the infallible Triple Gem,
GANG GI T’HRIN-LAY CHHOK CHU KÜN-TU GYAY
May your enlightened activity ever-expand throughout the ten directions,
ZHEY-DÖN T’HA-DAK GEK-MEY NYÜR-DU DRÜP
May all your innermost aspirations be swiftly accomplished without hindrance,
SA SUM WANG-DU-JEY-PAY PEL T’HOP SHOK
And may you attain the glory of wielding power over the three planes!
Thus, on the 24th day of the 4th month of the Iron Horse Year, in the 17th Rabjung Cycle, on the occasion of traveling in order to encounter directly the radiant visage of the Great Guardian and Protector, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Abhyalakshamkara spoke this. May it be accomplished accordingly!
