The Outer, Inner, and Secret Refuge of Mahasiddha Thangtong Gyalpo

MA NAM-KHA DANG NYAM-PAY SEM-CHEN T’HAM-CHAY

All mother sentient beings, equal to the sky,

LA-MA SANG-GYAY RIN-PO-CHHE LA KYAP SU CHHI’O

Go for refuge in the precious Guru-Buddha,

SANG-GYAY CHHÖ DANG GEN-DÜN NAM LA KYAP SU CHHI’O

Go for refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha,

LA-MA YI-DAM KHAN-DRO SUM LA KYAP SU CHHI’O

Go for refuge in the Three Roots: the Guru, the Yidam, and the Dakini,

RANG-SEM TONG-SEL CHHÖ-KYI-KU LA KYAP SU CHHI’O

Go for refuge in the emptiness-clarity of their own minds, the Dharmakaya.

Translated from Tibetan by Erick Tsiknopoulos.
